Our Approach

A calmer path through family law.

Most family and estate matters never belong in a courtroom. We help Arizona professionals and their families resolve them privately, through collaboration and mediation rather than conflict.

That means protecting the things that take a lifetime to build – your family, your wealth and the business you have grown – without the cost, delay and strain of litigation.

Whether you are planning ahead or working through a difficult transition, our role stays the same: a guided path to a resolution everyone can live with.

Client Story

David & Lisa's Story

A collaborative-divorce story: two parents who chose to resolve things respectfully and out of court.

“The meaning of collaborative divorce is different for everyone!”

David and Lisa, married seventeen years with a teenage son nearing his final years of high school, chose collaborative divorce as their marriage came to an end. Working with their collaborative team, including a financial professional and a mediator, they focused first on their son: keeping his last two years of school stable and protecting his relationship with both parents. Together they worked through the harder pieces, spousal support and dividing what they had built, without turning any of it into a public fight.

Client Reviews

What clients say

Michelle was extremely helpful in doing my estate plan and providing advice and counsel during my divorce. She is very knowledgeable about both topics, and I have the utmost confidence in her skills in resolving divorce issues and assisting you with developing an estate plan to make sure all of the details are taken care of. She is compassionate and competent and will provide you with exceptional service because that is who she is.

Eric L.

I was referred to Michelle for a complicated family legal matter, that was causing me a lot of stress. When I first met with her, she mentioned she had handled many family estate cases like this. That became quickly apparent, as I explained to her the details of my situation. It was obvious to me that she was an expert on the subject during the 1st hour I met with her as she helped me navigate some major obstacles. I am so thankful I found Michelle and worked with her on my legal case – she was awesome to work with and I highly recommend her!

Brooke H.

Michelle and her team are absolutely fantastic to work with. She is a consummate professional and is incredibly empathetic. She listens well and advises well. Are you looking for a collaborative and pragmatic experience during a tough time? Look no further, she is the best and my recommendation could not be higher. Thank you Michelle and team!

Protecting your children after remarriage

Remarrying changes the estate-planning picture: without an updated trust, coordinated beneficiary designations, and a will that names any stepchildren directly, a new spouse’s rights under Arizona law can unintentionally reduce what your own children inherit.

Divorce and estate planning: what changes

Divorce does not automatically update everything: a former spouse is removed as a beneficiary under a will, but retirement accounts, life insurance, and property held in joint tenancy often need their own separate paperwork before the change is complete.

Power of attorney for college students

Once your child turns eighteen, hospitals and doctors answer to them, not to you: a signed medical power of attorney keeps you in the loop if there is ever a medical emergency at school.
